Dr. Paul L. Child, Jr. is a Prosthodontist, an advanced specialist, providing all aspects of dentistry, but primarily implants, implant supported dentures & bridges, veneers/crowns, and all aspects of oral surgery.
Dr. Child’s patients describe him as a perfectionist with a calm and empathetic demeanor. He enjoys listening to his patient’s life experiences, using humor in an obviously stressful situation, and taking time to get to know each patient individually.
Dr. Child is known for taking the necessary time with each patient to listen to their needs and to ensure that all of their options are explored and discussed, giving them the autonomy to choose what is best for them. Dr. Child is highly ethical and places this characteristic above all else.
Dr. Child graduated with high honors from Case School of Dental Medicine and completed a 3-year residency at the world-renown Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in Prosthodontics, where he studied and excelled in high-end Esthetics, Implantology, Oral Surgery, and complex full-mouth rehabilitation, allowing him to successfully treat any patient.
Dr. Child is also a Certified Dental Technician (CDT) through the National Board of Certification in Dental Lab Technology, an achievement that only a few dentists worldwide share. This unique skillset of being both a Prosthodontist and a CDT ensures the restorations he provides are the highest in quality, esthetics, and function.
Dr. Child is a member of many academies and associations, including the prestigious American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, the invitation-only organization comprised of only the elite professionals of esthetic dentistry and are internationally known and sought after for their work. He is one of only three dentists in Utah to hold this honor.
Dr. Child has lectured extensively throughout the world on most dental topics, but primarily Prosthodontics, Implantology, and Dental Materials. He has organized and chaired several national academy meetings, due to his standard of keeping up-to-date on anything dentistry. He is also an author of many dental articles and serves on the editorial board of several journals.
Dr. Child's personal mantra is, "If you don't have time to do it right the first time, when do you have time to do it over?" With this driving motivation, Dr. Child insists on setting a personal standard for himself that provides the highest quality care to you and your family the first time.
When not researching or pondering on anything about the Dental Profession, Dr. Child can be found reading an insightful book, golfing, spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, or maintaining physical fitness.
